Reporting to the EGM Corporate Services, this role is responsible for maintaining strategic business partnerships with government agencies, professional associations, investors, suppliers and the communities at large.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Advise on approaches to stakeholder engagement, including establishing relationships with key professional bodies, business groups, and pressure groups.
  • Provide timely and well-considered advice to Management regarding stakeholder communications, including possible announcements and media appearances.
  • Respond to inquiries from external stakeholders, community members and assist with resolving concerns
  • Help to deliver an external affairs strategy that is delivered at pace, intelligence-led and meets agreed objectives.
  • Deliver high profile events and visits for ministers with a strong external stakeholder focus.
  • Build relationships with government partners and civil service colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of external affairs goals that supports company objectives.
  • Conduct research and monitor legislation and also track happenings within the government that could affect the organization
  • Develop work programs for the division aligned to the company`s goals and objectives
  • Develop, manage, implement and execute advocacy strategy for public funding including charitable contributions, grants, and volunteer programs
  • Attend relevant programs and events to better understand community interests and activities
  • Oversee branding and marketing initiatives and represents the organization at events.
  • Ensures that project/department`s milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets
  • Coordinate and manage all community engagement and outreach activities
  • Collaborate with the relevant agencies to investigate and identify opportunities for expanding reach such as identifying initiatives that can have a significant impact on community or citizens and improve company image.
  • Oversee the Government & Community Affairs department

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • A primary degree in Arts (Political Science), Law, or Management with additional post-graduate qualifications.  
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation in oil and gas
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in organizing high profile events
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in segmenting audiences and developing innovative channel plans
  • Minimum 8 years track record of success in managing relationships around complex issues
  • Excellent management skills and political awareness.
  • Alert to emerging issues and trends, which might impact or benefit KPHL work.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills – including effective use of insight and evaluation.
