Kumul Petroleum commends Graduates Employee’s Academic Achievement

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (Kumul Petroleum) has expressed satisfaction and commended its young graduate geologist Ivano Ivano for his top academic achievement at the Adelaide University, South Australia.

Kumul Petroleum Managing Director Wapu Sonk said the National Oil and Gas Company (NOC) is proud of the young geologist’ high academic achievement after a short stint at Adelaide University, undergoing a Master’s Program.

“We are proud for the benchmark set by a young Papua New Guinean graduate employee of Kumul Petroleum. As an employer and NOC, such achievements bring satisfaction to the organisation that invests a lot effort, time and resources into graduate development programs and other training and development opportunities through various partnership arrangements with our business partners,” Mr Sonk said.

He stressed that such outcome reflects the kind of policy initiatives, training and development program that the NOC has in place in the company.

Mr Sonk said, as employer; the news of Ivano’s top academic performance brings satisfaction to the company, the training program partners such as the Australian Government and Santos Limited and more so the parents of Ivano.

Ivano is the first beneficiary to the scholarship program under an agreement between Kumul Petroleum, Santos Limited, and Australian Government.

Mr Sonk added there is already plans to send a second Kumul Petroleum Graduate employee for the Master’s programme soon.

He also thanked and commended Santos and Australian Government for the support and looking forward to training and develop more Papua New Guineans graduates in the oil and gas field of study.
