KPHL supports PNG Hunters with K3m sponsorship

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) has signed a K3 million sponsorship agreement with the PNG Hunters rugby league franchise.

Under the three-year deal, KPHL becomes the Gold Sponsor of the reigning Queensland Cup premiers.

The first payment of K1 million was made this week with subsequent payments of K1 million each to be made in January 2019 and January 2020.

Managing Director Mr Wapu Sonk said KPHL is proud to support the PNG Hunters team.

“PNG Hunters has been a success rugby league program and KPHL is happy to be a part of what is becoming to be a professional team, supported by professional and capable management team.

“KPHL’s vision is to create value and opportunity for PNG and its people by becoming a major national oil and gas corporation. To that end, we see that the opportunity to support PNG Hunters goes a long way to meaningfully expose PNG’s pool of rugby talent to the rugby league world.

“KPHL is also involved in the Digicel Cup competition through the Hela Wigman Club and its feeder club, Souths, in the Port Moresby competition through its subsidiary Kroton Limited and this commitment reflects the value we place on developing and harnessing human talent and social development as the National Oil and Gas Company,” Mr Sonk said.
