Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited milestones

  • Policy and legislative reforms introduced by the O'Neill-Dion Government pertaining to the country's oil and gas resources led to the successful enactment of the KPHL Act by Parliament.
  • Enactment by Parliament of the KPHL Act has mandated KPHL to be the National Oil and gas company (NOC).
  • KPHL joined the PNG LNG Project partners and stakeholders in celebrating the first LNG shipment bound for export market, namely Japan, on May 25 2014.
  • KPHL was the official sponsor and host of the inaugural Petroleum and Energy Summit in Port Moresby in 2017.
  • KPHL, through its subsidiary Kumul Energy became a partner with Oil Search Limited to develop a Power Project as an Independent Power Producer (IPP). IPP will own and operate a 50 MW power station to supply power into Port Moresby via PNG Power. IPP will purchase gas from the PNG LNG plant to supply the fuel for the gas fired power station.
  • KPHL contributed K50 million to the relief efforts of the earthquake devastated areas in Hela, Southern Highlands and other Highlands provinces.
  • KPHL launched the Kumul Petroleum Charity Golf Challenge (KPCGC) in July 2018 as its annual signature event to raise funds for a PNG non-government-organisation, Life PNG Care (LPC). LPC takes care of and educates vulnerable children and orphans in Port Moresby.
